  • Why Study Apologetics as a Christian?

Ultimately, none of us really want to hold beliefs that are untrue, but in order to live that way you really do need to be open to other ideas as a constant refreshing of what you do believe and why – is it reasonable, justifiable, and reliable?

For a long time I was so afraid that the next scientific discovery, or the next difficult theological or philosophical question was going to disprove the Jesus I had such love and faith for that I simply didn’t want to address the difficult questions that everyone has about Christianity – I wanted to just live by blind faith and be happy.

But, after a while this does not reinforce your faith – it just makes you fearful and depressed. This has been a big part of the motivation behind my pursuit of Apologetics – the more you look into all the questions, worldly “truths”, science, and everything, with prayer and Gods guidance, He shows you that all truth leads to Him. His Word and His Creation, Special Revelation and General Revelation, are thoroughly and exhaustively reinforced when properly interpreted. The level of complexity is beyond amazing and the further we inquire of the Truth the more we are amazed and our Faith is made more complete…(and our fears are put to rest) … this is how it worked for me.
